pull.

I saw PUSH. It was GOOD.
(the movie.)

Soooo....I am glad February is almost over. I've been a part of every Black History Month Celebration, and I love Black History Month, but being on the committee to plan the events that go along with it has been ridiculous like no other...

We ended this month with a jazz concert and chocolate display and it was lovely.

And then I went to the movies and saw PUSH and it was awesome.

I think I'm too sleepy to care to blog right now, though.

Yes, I think I will log off facebook and hit the sac.

fooled or foiled...or NEITHER.

so, I'm finally finished with the play!!!

It's a relief, and also slightly depressing... so...I assumed the role of 'Isabella' in a theatrical production called "The Deceived," written by the 'Intronati di Siena' which is Italian for 'the Dazed of Siena. Its a comedy written in the 1520s, right before women were allowed to participate in theatrical productions. It is also said to have inspired Shakespeare's play, 'the Twelth Night.'

Any who, I participated in about a scene and a half (for the rest of the play I was like an imaginary creature, I was mentioned doing something more than I actually appeared in person)...it wasn't too big of a part, but apparently my main scene was crucial because I must have been told to do it at least a million times.

Now that I reflect, I'm glad my role was on the smaller side because I'm kind of busy; I most definitely believed that I would've went into cardiac arrest having a plays worth of lines. It wasn't too hard to remember...but acting is a lot harder than I recall (that is, recalling my last acting experience which was in the 5th grade...O_o).

Here is the only picture I have....it's me after one of our five shows, after I'm out of costume of course...

The Director, who was also the advisor/professor/overseer, said that we must always remember that theater is ephemeral, short-lived, and that is how it is intended to be.

So 'the Deceived,' kind of happened, lasted a little while, then ended...and that made it seem simple, yet while enduring rehearsals, meeting ridiculously different people who all came together to accomplish a common goal, memorizing lines, and learning that the sames jokes that were funny in the 1520s can be funny in today's day in age, was very complex.

Theatre then, is like a flower. It does everything it can to prepare for the day at which it blooms; it blossoms, and then its gone, but still lovely in memory.

really though?

"Boy you is in college college!" ...is what I heard someone say in the lunch room today. Enough said.

smiling inside.

so apparently ...when a post auto saves, it uses the time at which it was written??? who knew? (rhetorical.)

insert random photo here:

So, I feel a little bit tingly inside. I was having a normal boring day...had to work at 5pm. Well, there's a guy who comes in sometimes...and I remembered his name...and anyways...he was sitting at a table on his laptop for a while...and when he left he handed me a cd.

Yep, he burned me a cd. Isn't that weird?

It is weird.

But what was really weird about it was that I played it on my way home in the car, and its awesome. I mean, I LOVE the songs on this cd.

Number one, I love music in general. I carefully made about 4 playlists today and spent about 60 bucks on itunes, without downloading all the music that I really wanted to.

Number two, the selection of music on this cd is fabulous. There's a few Common tracks from his new cd (with Cee-lo and Kanye- two awesome artists), Ryan Leslie, Res - including They Say Vision - which I love and which I jammed to on the way home. There's a Ne-yo song I've never heard (which makes me sad that I've been missing out, because I listen to two of his cds religiously), Dwele (must be off of his newest album, its the only one I don't have), J. Holiday (self-explanatory), Adele (she's awesome, and I have those songs), and two more artists that I haven't heard of, but their music fits perfectly in there ( neo-soul real hip jop -ish tunes). And lets not forget Raheem Devaughn...he put Raheem Devaughn on there.

Wow.

This cd is awesome.

He has great taste in music.

Where ever you are...
Thank you.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to YOU ALL!!!!!

yeah.
So....by the way....I don't really have a Valentine. It's mostly my fault because I'm too busy for one, and the rest of the world's fault because that's where I live, on Earth.

yep. So I've decided to stab every couple I see today with a butter knife. Yep, right through the pupil.

So this week has been CRAZY. (Chaos Reigning down Amongst Zealous Yogurt) - isn't it funny I had a word for "z" that wasn't "zoo", but not a word for "y?" I mean...I guess it could be "craziness rolling and zipping you ...up?" i think I may be tired.

Anyway, this week has been ridiculous. Besides both of my jobs being pretty far up my ass, I had two events this week, and two that I'm planning for next week...let's not forget classes...the reason why I even go to school in the first place.

yeah....and I let this post auto save without finishing it like 2 days ago....so I'm gonna go ahead and post it and start a new one...
